And then there were footings!

So remember our big hole in the ground?? Well it is no longer empty. They have the footings for the foundation in. It looks pretty cool. You can see the shape of our house!!

Digging-Day 1

And then there was a hole...

They started digging a hole for our house today. They went to town and it looks like they got quite a bit done. Hopefully they'll be done this weekend and we can get started on the actual house.

Empty Lot

After signing the papers today, I drove over to our lot to take some pictures before they start digging tomorrow! Here's what it looks like...not for much longer though! If you look closely, you can see the orange paint and stakes! That's going to be OUR house!! And the house behind it...our builder lives there. How convenient!

It's Official!!

We did it! We signed our lives away and are starting to build a house. It's been quite a lengthy process, but we are so excited to finally get started. We have wanted to build a house for some time but it was never "that time". We then decided that buying a house was our best option. After looking at what seemed like every house "For Sale" in Pocatello/Chubbuck, we decided we just wanted to build. We had already drawn a plan we really liked and now we just needed to find a spot to build. We searched around and found one in a subdivision close to where we live now!! Today we signed all the papers and our builder staked out our house on the lot. We are looking forward to experiencing this process. We started this blog to document this for us and anyone else interested.
